As the first of its kind to be built by a NHS Trust, Totnes Community Hospital was officially opened in 1993 by the Duchess of Kent and offers a diverse range of inpatient and outpatient services to the benefit of the local population. 

DART WARD

This is an 18-bed GP inpatient ward which allows for the care of many medical and postoperative problems closer to home and family.

Doctors from Catherine House Surgery visit every weekday to review the progress of patients. During our visits we are more than happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have with regard to your treatment.

MINOR INJURIES UNIT

Open from 8.00am - 9.00pm seven days/week. You do not need an appointment to visit and a variety of complaints can be treated:

  • Cuts and grazes
  • Sprains and strains
  • Broken bones (fractures)
  • Bites and bee stings (including human bites)
  • Infected wounds
  • Minor head injuries
  • Eye problems such as minor infections, scratches

X-RAYS AND ULTRASOUND SCANNING

Certain types of investigations can now be performed at the hospital.
