Emergency Contraception

Emergency contraception is sometimes wrongly called the morning-after-pill. This can be misleading as it can actually be taken up to 72 hours (3 days) after having unprotected sex. However the sooner it is taken the better!

A coil can be inserted up to 5 days after unprotected sex. So, if you need emergency contraception because you didn't use any contraception or the condom burst then please don’t be embarrassed – arrange to see us as quickly as possible.

Either come to one of our walk-in clinics or ask to speak to us on the phone. Remember you do not need to tell a receptionist what the phone call is about. We get lots of request of emergency contraception.
